A LITTLE ABOUT US

1989- Lucy & Hernando Dederle began cleaning houses in Singer Island, FL

1991- In search of their American Dream, Lucy & Hernando established Lucy’s Cleaning Service

2001- In their first decade, they successfully grew their janitorial business and developed many reputable contracts

2002- At 14 years old, their son Giovanny began taking interest in the family business and started to help his parents with some of the day to day operations

2008- The recession hit, and although many of their clients closed their doors, Lucy’s Cleaning persevered thanks to their direction and enthusiasm

2011- After 20 years in business, Hernando and Lucy were faced with a decision to sell the business

2012- Having his parents’ entrepreneurial spirit, Giovanny chose to pivot from his career as a paramedic and take over the family business as the successor

2014- Giovanny’s girlfriend, Maria, began helping out with the business and eventually turned from her career in the hospitality and service industry

2017- After all the years in training, Giovanny & Maria chose to seek a Business Entrepreneurship degree in hopes of taking the family business to the next level

2018- Lucy’s Cleaning is now in the hands of Giovanny and Maria. Now married, they chose to rebrand their second-generation family business and Zeal Cleaning Inc. was born.
